Scientifically known as Pleurotus eryngii, the King Trumpet is a unique species of mushrooms that have thrived in different parts of the world for centuries. Its most striking feature is its thick, fairly-white and fleshy stem, with a depressed cap and gills underneath the cap. It bears a striking resemblance to the shape of a real trumpet, hence the name 'King Trumpet.' It can be found growing in the Mediterranean regions of Europe as well as in the Middle East, Asia, and North Africa.
