Reishi (Ganoderma lingzhi), also known as the "Mushroom of Immortality" has been used in Chinese Medicine for at least 2,000 years and has been documented in some of the earliest phamacopoeia texts in Asia. Reishi was traditionally used as a tonic to strengthen vital energy or "Qi", and was thought to help support balance and inner strength. Valued as a potent adaptogen in modern herbalism, reishi may help the body adapt to stress, and supports the maintenance of a healthy immune system. Reishi has a deep woodsy, bitter flavor. Our pure, wood-grown reishi mushroom extract is made by hot water extraction using the fruiting body of the fungi.
