Butcher’s Broom (Ruscus aculeatus) is an evergreen shrub indigenous to Mediterranean Europe and some parts of Africa. As with many herbs, it is first mentioned in the writings of the Greek physician Dioscorides and has been used extensively in traditional European medicine for centuries. Butcher’s Broom has naturally occurring flavonoids and glycolic acid.
