Grape Seeds contains high concentrations of Proanthocyanidins, a class of plant flavonoids. Flavonoids are plant pigments that give color to many flowers and fruits and are widely associated with many health-promoting benefits. The most abundant phenolic compounds isolated from Grape Seed are catechins, epicatechin, and procyanidin. Scientific studies have shown that the potential antioxidant power of proanthocyanidinds is 20 times greater with vitamin E and 50 times greater than vitamin C. Extensive research also suggests that grape seed extract is beneficial in many areas of health because of its antioxidant effect, as well as its ability to bond with collagen, promoting youthful skin, cell health, elasticity, and flexibility. Other studies have shown that proanthocyanidins help to protect the body from sun damage and support joint flexibility. Furthermore, these compounds help to strengthen arteries, capillaries, veins, and heart tissue, supporting healthy blood circulation.
